CARE INFORMATION

The Felted Hare creations are made from wool, a robust but also delicate material.  Please avoid excessive handling of the items, especially if they have a long coat finish.  Wool can felt up (clump) from the heat in your hands.

When you item arrives it will be wrapped in tissue paper and a long coated item (ie. A highland cow) may appear a little flat. The easiest way to " fluff" it up again is to hold it by a fixed point (usually the legs) and give it a gentle shake. You can also take a large blunt needle, like a tapestry needle or similar and very gentle tease through the coat. Lifting the fibres and re-postion them if required. One or two strands of fibres may come away, don't worry this is normal, as long as its not excessive.

On going care- Felted Hare creations are not Child or Pet friendly! so please keep little hands and paws away from them.

Please do not display in strong sunlight or near heater. Some items may have a hard wax finish on parts ( feet and horns) This is a Bees wax blend and has a fairly low melting point and while it is unlikely to fully melt, it may soften and leave a greasy stain on your surface.

Dusting-  a simple shake will dislodge general dust. Items can be displayed under a glass dome if preferred. Unfortunately, due to cost and logistics these are not , at present, supplied by The Felted Hare.

Insects- Wool is a natural fibre and therefore, in certain situations, it can be prone to clothes moth damage. I personally have never had an issue and it is not a common issue in the UK. However, if you think you may have some insects on your felted creation there is a solution. Carefully pop it into a plastic bag, large enough so not to squash it. Place the sealed  bag in the freezer for at least 2 weeks. This should be enough to kill off any insects and eggs.
